On Friday 8th May 70 years ago, peace broke out and brought an end to nearly 6 years of war across Europe.
The 70th anniversary of VE Day saw beacons lit in cities throughout the UK and Bere Regis was part of the commemorations.
The beacon was sited on Souls Moor.Villagers met at the Scout Hut at 9pm.
They then walked to the beacon, where the ceremony commenced at 9.20pm.
The beacon was lit at 9.32pm, as part of the National Celebration.
It was done in the village, in association with Bere Regis Scout Group
