FLOWER FESTIVAL AT ST LAURENCE’S
CHURCH 21 – 23 JUNE
St Laurence’s PCC were asked by the
Briantspuddle Village Hall Committee to once
again prepare a flower festival to link in with their
own Open Gardens. After consultation with flower
arrangers, it was decided to proceed!
The theme this year was ‘Local Flora and Fauna”
and my goodness, did those involved rise to the
challenge!
We had amazing

water and wild birds. All arrangements used a
considerable amount of wildflowers, greenery
and wood, creating a very natural,
environmentally friendly effect.
Photographic displays from our very skilled and
talented wildlife experts were complimented by
historical boards of old photographs of the
villages, showing life and the environment as it
had been many years ago.
The church was filled with music from our own organist, Dr Richard Hall, and on 2024
the Saturday afternoon, blessed with singing by the small group, Serenade.
The final joy was all the homemade cake which we served with tea and coffee!
A great deal of hard work by too many people to list here, but to whom we are
so grateful. You will be delighted to know that we raised £675 for church funds.
Well done and many
thanks to all and
thanks also to
