Runaway
trailer kills pedestrian
A woman died and another woman and child were injured when they were
hit by a trailer that became detached from the vehicle that was pulling
it. The victim, believed to be in her 30s, was walking on the pavement
in Bere Regis, Dorset, on Friday.

A
red Land Rover had been travelling along the C6 Southbrook road to
Wool in the village when its trailer detached, colliding with the
group.
The
44-year-old male driver of the Land Rover, from Wareham, has been
arrested. Police said he was being held on suspicion of causing death
by dangerous driving.
The
victim, who has not been identified but was from Bere Regis, died
at the scene. The other woman and her child were taken to Dorset County
Hospital where they were described as being in a stable, non-life-threatening
condition.
