The Meadow & Gardens in front of the Church just before 1900

Copyright 2003 James Loxton

Although the watercress farm has tamed the river, the essential elements of this photograph are fairly similar. Agreed there has been much development either side of the church but at least the foreground remains green and, as with St Paul's in London, an open corridor leads from the church down to the water. The nature of the land in this vicinity should preserve this view well beyond 2003.
