Aerial View of Bere Regis in 1933

This fascinating view shows the main part of the village in the summer. The prominent road near the bottom of the picture is South Brook and we are looking North-East. The houses along West Street show clearly and the expansive area of the cross-roads is evident. You can even see the outside display items at Arthur Janes' shop on the cross. The church is the largest building, surrounded by a very neat churchyard, while the second largest structure is the then-vicarage on the other side of West Street. Many areas are used as allotments, while at bottom-right the tennis courts show up well.
