This
fascinating view shows the main part of the village in the summer.
The prominent road near the bottom of the picture is South Brook and
we are looking North-East. The houses along West Street show clearly
and the expansive area of the cross-roads is evident. You can even
see the outside display items at Arthur Janes' shop on the cross.
The church is the largest building, surrounded by a very neat churchyard,
while the second largest structure is the then-vicarage on the other
side of West Street. Many areas are used as allotments, while at bottom-right
the tennis courts show up well.
