January 2008 Meeting

During February and March we have two live theatre performances. During the morning of 21st February there will be a puppet theatre show entitled 'Head in the Clouds'. This is ideal for the younger children. Look out for the posters. Book tickets on 471 342.

On 11th March we have the Forest Forge Theatre Company performing their own written play 'The Marrow'. This should appeal to all gardeners and particularly to competing vegetable growers.

February 2008 Meeting

The Management Committe met met recently and decided that the next major improvement must be the installation of fire warning systems. This is not going to ba cheap task but the Committee feels that it will be a real target to achieve with some more fund raising and possible assistance from grants etc. Thus much of the rest of the meeting was concerned with planning a programme aimed at raising funds.

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 18th April at 7pm in the Hall. All Parishioners are invited to attend this important meeting in the life of the Hall.

We are fortunate to have a live professional theatrical perfromance on Tuesday 11th March at 7.30pm. The Forest Forge Theatre Company is peforming a play that they have written entitled 'th the Marrow'. As the title might suggest it concerns gardening - vegatable gardening. 'In the world of competitive vegatable growing, size really does matter! It's a war, alright, gardening and this is the front line. To win it you've got to understand how the whole thing works. How the cycle comes around. It's all a matter of life and death. And like in any war, you have to be prepared to crush your enemy completely'. This is a fun play and Iam certain that it will be as successful and enjoyable as all of the performances that we have enjoyed by this company in the past. Book your tickets from 01929 471 342. £6 Adults, £18 Family ticket (Family of 4 - max 2 Adults). Do come along.

March 2008 Meeting

The Annual General Meeting for the Village Hall is to be held on Friday 18th April at 7pm in the Hall. Everybody is invited to attend and to let the Committee that is elected at this meeting know of their thoughts and wishes about their Hall. A great deal has been done in recent years but, as ever, more remains to be done. If you are able do come along and let your voice be heard.

The Forest Forge Theatre Company gave us a wonderful performance with their presentation of 'To the Marrow'. This was travelling rural theatre at its best with only three in the cast playing, between them, twenty two parts! We had a full house and everyone who attended expressed their pleasure.

The Hall is always busy, which is why we can pay our way. The Committee have scheduled a full programme of events. Watch out for The Yetties on 3rd May - tickets from Angela Jones or Kath Jeeves, £8.50 incl a supper. Book early this is always popular.

On the 27th July at 2.15pm we have the Wareham Town Band. Tickets £4 which includes a cream tea, from Kath Jeeves.

We are joining in with the Purbeck Film Festival again this year and our booking is for the 11th October. At present we have no idea of the titles being offered.

Finally, in time for Christmas, there will be a Table Top Sale on 8th November.

Watch out for other events throughout the year, for example I hope that we will be able to get another Forest Forge performance in the autumn.
