We have booked a puppet performance for the February half term holiday. This will be the Storybox Theatre presenting the rather graphically entitled ‘The Pea, the Bean and the Enormous Turnip’ on Tuesday February 14th at 1030 am. Then on March 2nd we have the Forest Forge Theatre Company who are presenting ‘The Country Wife’. It is the story of a wife who leaves her closeted existence in Hampshire to get a taste of city life. This is a professional company who have proved to be very popular in the past and the advice is to book early. CM

The Annual General Meeting of the Hall Committee takes place on Friday 7th April at the Drax Hall. This is an opportunity for anyone who wishes to make their feelings known on the running of the Village Hall. There have been many changes in the past year and there are more to come. New faces on the committee are always welcome, but even if you have no wish to serve on the committee your thoughts on your Village Hall are always welcome.
It is very interesting hearing the comments of visitors who rank our Village Hall very highly. This is even from theatre groups who have to carry their props up the stairs, which is encouraging.
Shortly after this is published we will be hosting the Forest Forge Theatre with their production of ‘The Country Woman’. This is a very popular group and they will cleverly perform a play that has probably twice as many parts as they have cast. CM

Visitors to the Hall will see that many changes have ‘happened’. We now have a very good Kitchen and additional facilities in the Main Hall which will make catering both easier and safer. None of these could be provided without funding and thanks both to the hard working Committee and to some well timed Grants the work has been undertaken.
The Annual General Meeting of the Committee was held in the first week of April. Mrs Kath Jeeves continues as Chairman. The Accounts indicate that the Hall is financially sound even though its turnover is relatively small when compared with other Halls in the area. As a result our charges are very reasonable but our usage is very high. During the past year we generated an excess income of just under £300 and during the same period we were lucky to receive grants of £9,000 which is being spent on capital items.
During this month we will be selecting performances for the winter season of plays etc. The very popular Forest Forge Theatre Company will be high on our list and it is to be hoped that we can fill the Hall again with their productions. CM
