Evidence can still be seen in the church today of the original building begun in around 1050. The Church was added to each century from the 11th till the 16th; so we have a veritable showpiece of changing architectural styles. The highlight of our church is undoubtably the magnificent Nave roof. Built in about 1485, it is thought to have been a gift from Cardinal Morton. Part of the roof comprises of full length carved human figures representing the 12 apostles. We are rightly proud of our Church and are currently raising funds to provide some Porch Gates.

There has been a Congregational Church presence in Bere Regis since 1662. Services were held in a licensed building in Blind Street, then in The Drax Hall which was used as a Chapel. Finally, on 9th February 1893, the building above in Butt Lane, was converted from a schoolroom into the new Congregational Chapel.

The Bere Heath Methodist Society was formed sometime between 1815 - 1829 and for its first few decades the meetings were held in a private residence. £121 was raised to build a Chapel which was subsequently opened on 24th October, 1850. It hosted its first ever marriage ceremony on 19th November 1966, after it had been licensed for weddings that year.
